Catapult grew out of an Olympic-prep research project

Catapult Sports, whose wearable trackers are now used by more than 5,500 elite teams in over 100 countries, was founded in Melbourne in 2006. It grew out of a partnership between the Australian Institute of Sport and the Cooperative Research Centres that aimed to move athlete performance testing out of the laboratory and onto the field of play ahead of the Athens Olympics.
