Zipline passed two million autonomous deliveries with no serious injury

In a January 21, 2026 newsroom release, the autonomous-drone delivery company Zipline said it had “surpassed two million commercial deliveries” - more, it claimed, than all other companies in the sector combined. The company said its zero-emission aircraft had flown more than 125 million autonomous commercial miles and delivered more than 20 million items, all without a serious injury, and that it was completing a delivery somewhere in the world about every 30 seconds. Zipline’s drones, which began by carrying blood and medical supplies to rural clinics in Rwanda in 2016, fly and navigate on their own and lower a small pod to the drop point rather than landing.
