KPMG deploys Copilot and Agent 365 across 276,000 staff

On June 9, 2026, Microsoft and KPMG announced an expanded global relationship to deploy AI agents at enterprise scale. Under the agreement, KPMG will roll out Microsoft 365 Copilot across its entire global workforce of more than 276,000 professionals and adopt Microsoft Agent 365 to manage, monitor, and secure AI agents across its organization.

KPMG said it would use Agent 365 to strengthen its Trusted AI framework, applying governance, visibility, and accountability controls to the agents its people and its clients deploy. The companies framed the work as moving organizations “from isolated pilots to trusted enterprise-scale AI deployment,” and KPMG firms will in turn help their own clients deploy AI agents with security and compliance controls in place. The expansion comes two years after KPMG first adopted Copilot.

The announcement is a concrete adoption milestone rather than a product launch. A workforce-wide Copilot rollout across a Big Four firm, paired with a platform purpose-built to govern fleets of AI agents, is the kind of large-scale operational commitment that signals enterprises moving past experimentation. The emphasis on managing and securing agents also reflects a broader 2026 shift in which the hard problem is no longer whether agents work, but how to govern many of them safely inside a regulated business.
