Black Forest Labs is a generative-AI research company that publicly launched on August 1, 2024. Its founding team includes researchers and engineers who created several of the foundational models in modern image generation, including VQGAN, Latent Diffusion, and the Stable Diffusion models - the same lineage that powered the open text-to-image boom of 2022.
